NEUROTHERAPY (COMING SOON)
WHAT IS NEUROFEEDBACK
Neurotherapy also known as neurofeeback is a non invasive way to train the brain. It corrects irregular brain waves and reinforces healthy brain function bringing the brain back to it's best functioning state.
ADHD
ANXIETY
DEPRESSION
EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL ISSUES
PTSD
LEARNING DISORDERS
Often occur when the brain patterns are irregular, neurofeedback training will retrain these specific areas of the brain and bring them back in balance.
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
Neurofeedback involves placing sensors on the scalp and connecting the sensors to a computer and amplifier. Electrical activity of the brain is recorded and then presented back to the person on the computer screen. In the form of a video that changes depending on what state the brain is in, this enables the person to change their brain function. As the electrical patterns are repeated, they become a habit for the brain. These patterns hold for longer periods and feedback is eventually no longer needed for the brain to repeat the state it was taught.
BENEFITS
Improve depression symptoms, increase attention/focus, reduce anxiety and stress , improve memory,
What is QEEG (Brainmapping) ?
QEEG'S are non invasive and painless. It involves placing a sensor cap on the head which allows monitoring of brain activity. This will be done during the initial appointment, it helps to determine which areas of the brain have too much or too little activity. It will also help determine what type of treatment plan will be appropriate for the individual. Abnormal brain activity can result in a wide range of mental health issues, as well as memory issues and learning disabilities. The ultimate goal is to correct the imbalances, and alleviate symptoms through neurofeedback.
INITIAL APPOINTMENT
Review of medical history, symptoms
Explanation of neurofeedback training
Brain mapping
Review results of brain map
Create customized treatment plan
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED
This will be determined at the initial appointment upon review of the brain mapping results. Typically 20-40 sessions may be needed but this depends on the severity of persons symptoms
